day 3 focus: the mission

Every house that God builds will go through moments that test whether the people in it are truly committed to the assignment or just committed to the comfort. Seasons of transition, change, and refinement are not signs that something is wrong. They are signs that God is serious about what He is building. He does not refine what He does not value.

As we close out these three days, the question is not what happened behind us. The question is what is waiting in front of us. A house that has come through a shaking and is still standing is a house that has proven it can carry the weight of what God is about to place on it.

Arise Church was not planted in Decatur, Alabama by accident. There is an assignment on this house that has not been fully walked out yet. The people this church is called to reach have not all been reached. The impact this house is called to make has not yet been fully made. We are not at the end of anything. We are at the beginning of the most significant chapter this church has seen.

Come back to the mission today. Not with exhaustion, not with reservation, but with the fresh eyes of a people who fasted, prayed, and came out the other side ready. The best of Arise Church is not behind us. It is ahead.

scriptures

  1. Matthew 28:19-20 - Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.

  2. Habakkuk 2:2-3 - And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

  3. Nehemiah 2:20 - Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build.

  4. Isaiah 62:1 - For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.

  5. 1 Corinthians 15:58 - Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

  6. Philippians 3:13-14 - Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

  7. Zechariah 4:6 - Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

prayer points

1. Father, we come before You today as a house that is fully committed to the assignment You placed on Arise Church. We acknowledge that life, busyness, and the demands of this season can quietly pull our attention away from what matters most. Today we return our focus to You and to the work You called us to. We are not here by accident. This church exists for a reason and every person connected to it has a role in fulfilling it. Renew our passion for the mission. Let it burn in us the way it did when we first said yes to being part of what You are building here in Jesus’ Name.

2. Father God, give this house uncommon clarity about what this next season requires. What should we prioritize? What should we build? Who are we supposed to reach and how do we reach them? Remove every fog of confusion and every competing agenda that has made the path unclear. Let the vision You gave this church be sharp, current, and burning in the hearts of the people You have assigned to carry it. We do not want to be busy doing things You never asked for. We want to be laser focused on exactly what You have commissioned in Jesus’ Name.

3. O Lord, remind us today that building something that matters requires endurance. Every house You have ever used went through seasons that tested their commitment to the vision. We pray for the kind of resolve that does not waver when the process gets hard, the kind of faith that keeps showing up even when results are not yet visible, and the kind of unity that refuses to let anything fracture what You are knitting together. Give this house the strength to stay the course. We are builders and we decree and declare we will keep building until what You showed us becomes what everyone can see in the Mighty Name of Jesus.

4. My Father, My King, activate every member of Arise Church in their specific role in this mission. Not everyone preaches. Not everyone leads worship. But everyone has a part. Stir up every person who has been sitting on the sidelines, every gift that has been dormant, and every calling that has not yet been fully stepped into. Let this fast mark the moment when the people of this house stop watching and start participating. A mission this size requires every hand. Activate us all and let each person know clearly what You are asking them to do in Jesus’ Name.

5. Father God, we stand together as one house and we decree and declare over Arise Church that the best is ahead and not behind. What God started here on July 9, 2023 has not reached its fullness. The people are coming. The resources are coming. The influence is coming. The souls are coming. We declare that this house will fulfill every word God spoke over it. We will not shrink. We will not scatter. We will not stop. We are one house, one mission, one people under the covering of God. And declare now we are just getting started in the Name of Jesus.
