MARCH 2026

day 2 focus: MANAGING WHAT MATTERS

Day 1 established the foundation. We are stewards, not owners. Day 2 goes deeper. Now we deal with the internal work. Because the real stewardship battle isn't just about money or time. It's about the condition of the heart behind the management.

Jesus made it clear that how you handle what's in your hand reveals what's actually in your heart. A person can give a tithe and still have a greedy heart. A person can serve in ministry and still be building their own name. True stewardship requires motives that have been examined, purified, and aligned with God's purpose. It requires a willingness to be corrected, redirected, and even stripped of things you've mismanaged so God can rebuild the right way.

Day 2 is also about expansion. God is not just looking for people who won't steal from Him; He's looking for people He can trust with more. More influence. More resources. More responsibility in the kingdom. That kind of trust is built through a track record of faithfulness when no one is watching, in seasons that feel small, and in areas that don't seem spiritual at all.

Let today's fast press you past the surface. Ask God to show you not just what you're managing, but how and why. That's where real stewardship begins.

scriptures

1. Genesis 1:28 "And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."

2. Leviticus 27:30 "And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD'S: it is holy unto the LORD."

3. Psalm 112:5 "A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion."

4. Proverbs 13:22 "A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just."

5. Proverbs 21:5 "The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want."

6. Ecclesiastes 5:10 "He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity."

7. Matthew 6:19-21 "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

8. Matthew 25:29 "For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath."

9. Luke 12:42-44 "And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath."

10. Romans 14:12 "So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God."

11. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 "But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver."

12. Colossians 3:23-24 "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ."

prayer points

1. Father, search us like only You can. Expose every hidden motive behind how we give, serve, and manage what You've entrusted to us. Where we've been performing for people instead of honoring You, convict and correct us. Let every act of stewardship from this day forward flow from a pure heart, not a public one in Jesus’ Name.

2. Lord, You commanded us in Genesis 1:28 to be fruitful, multiply, and take dominion. We confess that we have been passive with the authority and resources You gave us. Awaken the dominion mandate in this house. Let us stop shrinking back from the responsibility of managing territory, influence, and opportunity for Your kingdom in the Name of Jesus.

3. FatherGod, we repent for choosing the fast and easy path over the faithful and diligent one. Proverbs 21:5 says diligence leads to abundance, but haste leads to lack. Deliver us from the spirit of shortcuts, impulsive decisions, and microwave thinking. Build in us a long-game mentality that produces real and lasting results in Jesus’ Name.

4. Father, Ecclesiastes 5:10 warns that the love of money will never satisfy. Disconnect our hearts from the pursuit of wealth as an end in itself. Deliver every person in this congregation from greed, covetousness, and the trap of chasing more without purpose. Let money be a tool in our hands, not a master over our hearts in Jesus’ Name.

5. O God, according to Matthew 6:19-21, where our treasure is reveals where our heart is. Align our investments, our spending, and our priorities with eternity. Let us be people who are building in two worlds at the same time, faithful on earth and storing up what lasts in heaven.

6. My Father, My King, every platform, every voice, every seat of influence You've given us is a stewardship. We have not always used our influence to point people to You. Forgive us for using our platforms for self-promotion or remaining silent when we should have spoken. Recalibrate every microphone, social media account, pulpit, and position in this house for kingdom impact in the Mighty Name of Jesus.

7. Father God, Luke 12:42 describes the steward who gives people their portion in due season. Teach us the wisdom of timing, knowing when to release, when to hold, when to speak, and when to wait. Let our leadership and management reflect Your timing, not our impatience or our fear in Jesus’ Name.

8. Father God, Proverbs 13:22 says a good man leaves an inheritance for his children's children. We receive that word as both a promise and a charge. Give this congregation the wisdom, discipline, and strategy to build wealth that transfers. Break every generational pattern of financial failure, and let this generation be the one that turns the tide for families in this house in Jesus’ Name.

9. Father, Romans 14:12 says every one of us will give account to You. Let that reality shape how we live right now, not in fear, but in reverence. We don't want to arrive at that moment with excuses, buried talents, or wasted years. Let this fast realign us with the life You intended so we can stand before You with a full report in Jesus’ Name.

10. O Lord, we receive the principle of 2 Corinthians 9:6-7, that our harvest is directly connected to how we sow. Deliver us from reluctant giving and stingy living. Teach this congregation to sow intentionally, generously, and cheerfully into the kingdom, into people, and into the future You have promised us in Jesus’ Name.

11. Father, Colossians 3:23 commands us to do everything heartily, as unto You. We confess that we have brought You our leftovers — leftover time, leftover energy, leftover money. Forgive us. Ignite a standard of excellence in this house that treats every task, every responsibility, and every resource as an offering placed before You in the Name of Jesus.

12. O Lord, the young people connected to Arise Church are one of our greatest stewardships. We have not always invested in them the way we should. During this fast, stir our hearts toward the next generation with urgency and intention. Let us build systems, programs, and relationships that anchor them in truth and equip them for purpose in Jesus’ Name.

13. Father, forgive us for repeating the same financial and structural mistakes for years. We break every cycle of mismanagement, poor planning, and reactive living right now in the name of Jesus. Release the spirit of wisdom and sound mind over this congregation so that we can build with clarity, consistency, and kingdom order in the Mighty Name of Jesus.

14. Lord, we don't want to become familiar with Your presence or treat what You've given us as routine. Keep us desperate, grateful, and protective of the move of the Holy Spirit in this place. Let us never trade the weight of Your glory for the comfort of a program in Jesus’ Name.

15. Father, Matthew 25:29 says that to everyone faithful with what they were given, more will be added. We position ourselves before You today as a house that is ready for more. Not more comfort, but more responsibility. Not more applause, but more kingdom impact. We have fasted, prayed, and laid our stewardship before You. Now, Lord, find us faithful, and release what You've been holding until we were ready, in Jesus' name.
